Dear SAFIAN,
For limit state design of WATER TANK refer Reinforced concrete limit state design by Ashok Jain. Since the code has revised in 2009, no Indian books are available for design of water tank by LSM. However a book similar to IS 3370 is available in the form of soft copy. "Design of Liquid Retaining Concrete Structures" by Robert D.Anchor using British code. You can send  a request to my email Id. rajancivildesign@gmail.com.
Regarding zones in IS 3370 part 2, there are 3 zones for grounded  slabs. zone 1, reinforcement shall be provided for top surface for a depth of D/2 for slab iwithin 300mm thick. For zone 2, when D is between 300 mm to 500mm, the reinforcement minimum shall be provided for top for D/2 portion. When D>500 mm , in case of
zone 3 the reinforcement shall be provided for bottom surface zone only 100 mm thick. Kindly refer Ashok Jain Rcc book.

Dear SAFIAN,
In case of Side wall of under ground water tank, the crack width is limit to 0.1mm for aggressive environment and 0.2mm for normal environment. Whether this crack width check is mainly for outer bar of main rods. Is it necessary to check the crack width for distributors also which is placed inside the main rod. Kindly clarify with relevant class in the code if any.

Thanks Rajan Sir for responding to my query..... i'm still in doubt whether during calculation for minimum reinforcement we have to take  D/2 depth portion of slab or it is for the purpose of reinforcemetn details only.
